With this aspect, there may be tremendous polarity, which results in either-or situations that can cause great tension. In a love relationship, you can expect this aspect to generate a lot of energy. You will be tremendously attracted to each other, but you will not feel entirely at ease, because there is a tremendous energy imbalance between you.

Much the same interaction will be found in the chart of friends. In all situations this is a very energetic but unstable combination.

When the composite Sun is conjunct composite Saturn: 

There is a strong sense that this is not a relationship to be taken lightly. In contrast to the composite Sun-Neptune aspect, this relationship fairly demands that roles are defined. There can be a business-like quality to this relationship, even if it is a romantic one, as the practical side of relating is emphasized and the need to be responsible to one another (and to others) is somehow clear. The main problem with this aspect occurs when partners become critical or overly demanding of one another, failing to allow much room for human error, and losing sight of the romantic feelings that they once felt.

Sun Conjunct Saturn  

Sun conjunct Saturn is a very powerful aspect in a composite chart. It indicates that you have come together to have an important learning experience.

The experience of this relationship may expose you to truths about yourselves that you would rather not face. The point is not to judge yourselves or each other, but to see clearly and with detachment and then try to make changes where necessary.

In many respects you may find this relationship confining and limiting. It may well be that you do need this discipline and that you are not facing your responsibilities. If you need this experience, the relationship may last a lifetime. But if it is really too confining, it will probably not last very long.

This is one of the strongest indications of a love relationship between two people, even in a friendship. The fifth house in the composite chart has many of the same meanings that it has in a conventional chart - love affairs, children (where this is appropriate), creativity, self-expression, etc. The interpretation of self- expression, however, is especially crititcal in a composite chart.

The composite fifth house represents, first of all, to what extent the relationship provides a setting for the individuals to be themselves in the most genuine and honest way possible. Many relationships survive only because each partner puts up a false front to the other. The fifth house signifies the ability of the individuals to be real in each other's presence.

The fifth is also the house of love affaires and friendship. But the very nature of this house means that it is not for people who are trying to operate as a single unit. In a fifth house relationship the two people are together but still individuals.

Moon in the Fifth House  5th hs

The composite Moon in the fifth house suggests that your relationship exists because it makes you both feel good, especially emotionally.

Obviously this is a good position for any kind of personal relationship, especially a love affair. You will enjoy each other's company immensely.

The major deficiency of this position is that you may find it difficult to settle down to anything serious. This can be especially difficult in a marriage or long-term love relationship, for you can't always have fun and games; at some point you have to work at the serious business of building a relationship together.

The basic inner strength of this relationship should be great enough to overcome all but the worst problems.

In general, this is one of the most positive and useful aspects that a composite chart can have for a successful personal relationship.

Moon Square Neptune  

Be very careful if you have the square of Moon and Neptune in your composite horoscope. This aspect creates a great danger that one or both of you will deceive yourselves or each other, either about the nature of the relationship or about outside matters that affect it. It can produce a situation in which one of you has come to "help" the other with a very difficult psychological problem, such as alcohol or drugs. But with a Moon-Neptune square, the so- called helper is often motivated by the desire to escape from some personal problem by relating to someone whose problems appear to be worse.

The relationship may also take on a very unreal idealistic tone, with the two of you creating beautiful illusions about yourselves and each other.

Disappointment of one's ideals is perhaps the greatest danger presented by this aspect. Its negative effects can be prevented only by the most hard-nosed, pragmatic, and practical evaluation of the relationship. And unfortunately, that is the very thing that the Moon-Neptune energy tends to block.

Moon Trine Uranus  

The trine of the Moon and Uranus in the composite chart signifies that both of you must be free in your emotional expression in order to bring out the best in this relationship. Even the relationship itself may take on very unusual forms. You should have the courage to deal with each other in different and exceptional ways. Otherwise you will have wasted an opportunity for growth.

By the same token, this relationship is likely to have a strong consciousness-altering effect upon both of you, changing your attitudes about your own and your partner's emotions. Your world-views and philosophy of life may very well be changed.

Certain attributes of a conventional relationship, such as stability and predictability, may not exist here. Yet despite the unpredictability, there will be much of value. And the more freedom you allow each other within the structure of this relationship, the more you will get out of it.

When the composite Moon is sextile or trine composite Mars:

This is an excellent aspect to have in a composite chart, as it suggests passionate involvement with one another and a true zest for life is stimulated between you. Together, you are adventurous and spontaneous, and a stimulating, active couple. You are not afraid to address emotional concerns directly and immediately.

The trine of composite Moon and composite Mars is a sign that the two of you have a great emotional involvement in this relationship. This would not be a very good aspect for a professional relationship that required mutual feelings of detachment. The combination of the Moon and Mars, even in a trine, implies that the feelings evoked are strong enough to make the relationship extremely subjective and personal.

This aspect acts most positively in a love relationship, where it can make an otherwise quiet and subdued affair into something much more emotionally rich and involving. Also, in a sexual relationship, the energy of the Moon combined with Mars helps to stimulate physical sexuality.

With this aspect, the attitudes and opinions that you hold jointly about the outside world and about yourselves can become fixed and rigid. As a result, you could fall into ritualized games and patterns of behavior that gradually have less and less connection with reality. While you are standing still, reality is changing.

This aspect is not good for successful intuitive communication, so say what you mean. If as a couple you can do these things, you should be able to reap the benefits of this aspect.

The positive side of this aspect is that your communication with each other should have a great deal of form and discipline. You are able to plan for the future more effectively than most, because you consider every possibility. Together you plan very carefully, thoroughly, and methodically.

Mercury conjunct Pluto in a composite chart combines the mental and intellectual functions of Mercury with the powerful transforming qualities of Pluto. These planets together indicate that this relationship is likely to have a strong effect on the way you both think. This aspect is an indication of acute psychological awareness, which is very helpful in a relationship if it is not overdone.

But there is a more difficult side to this Pluto-Mercury combination that you must watch for carefully. It can give rise to mental power struggles between you; that is, one of you tries to totally dominate the thoughts and opinions of the other.

Another possible effect of this aspect is that its energy may be turned outward. When this happens, the two of you may find that you are able to influence other people's opinions and ideas. This aspect would be especially useful in the composite chart of people who have to influence public opinion, such as those in advertising, public relations, or politics.

Mercury Conjunct Jupiter  

The conjunction of composite Mercury and Jupiter is an indication that the two of you are very compatible intellectually and mentally. More than other couples, you two will have the capacity to put your relationship into proper perspective and see what is really important and what is not.

Also, you will find that your relationship enormously stimulates the development of your consciousness; that is, you will become more and more aware of the world about you and your place in it. If the two of you do any extensive planning for the future, this aspect will help you greatly.

Being together may very well stimulate an interest in philosophy, religion, or metaphysics; or it may bring about opportunities for travel.

Mercury Sextile Neptune  

Mercury sextile Neptune in a composite chart indicates that the two of you are seeking some intellectual or mental ideal within this relationship. At its best this aspect can bring about, a direct intuitive understanding of each other's mind. At its least productive, this aspect can mean that one or both of you is overidealizing the relationship.

However, this is not a particularly difficult aspect to handle; even in the most overly idealized fantasy, there is likely to be enough real communication between you to prevent crushing disappointment when the fantasy vanishes.

Idealism will always be a strong element in this relationship, even if you keep your feet on the ground about most things. There is nothing wrong with your idealism, because sometimes just believing in an ideal can help make it happen.

Composite Venus in the 5th House. You need lots of attention from each other, and you are generally willing to give each other just that. Your main drive is to have fun with each other, and this feeds the love you have for one another. This is a strong placement for Venus. Self-expression is vital for keeping the chemistry alive. Stifling one another's feeling of freedom of expression is one of the worst things you can do. Neptune is the planet both of illusion and the ideal, and under its influence you are likely to find it very difficult to tell which is which. You must ascertain whether each of you is for real; that is, are you relating to each other or to some idealized fantasy? Is the spiritual element that you see in each other and in your relationship real or not?

You must examine this situation very closely, for you cannot afford to live in a fool's paradise. Your relationship may be either very good or very unreal, and you must find out which it is.

When composite Venus is square or in opposition to composite Neptune: 

This relationship can begin with a lot of hope and shared fantasies, but there is a time when realities set in and you might realize that a lot of what you've been projecting to your partner and believing about your partner is not based on reality. One or both of you might feel pressure to live up to the other's fantasies or high opinion, or you might be trying to prove your relationship to disapproving or cynical outsiders. This aspect fulfills itself most clearly in relationships between the sexes, for the sexuality of the two planets is then expressed easily. The trine of Venus and Mars strengthens the need for physical sexual expression and makes it satisfying. You truly complement each other.

Complementarity is one of the benefits of this aspect for any kind of relationship. Each of you is strong where the other is weak, so together you will be stronger than you are alone.

The Composite Second House

The second house of the composite chart refers to values - what the two people value, and their relationship to what is valued. This can operate on two different planes.

The second house can indicate the role that value-systems play in forming the relationship, that is, to what extend two people come together because they value similar things or ideas. If the second house contains difficult aspects, disagreements over values may be a major source of conflict. Similarly, positive aspects indicate that the couple has compatible values, which helps to bind the relationship together.

On another plane, clearly related to the first, the composite second house refers to whatever finances and property there may be in the relationship. If a relationship does not have any common property or finances, only the first manifestation will have relevance.

Composite Mars in the 2nd House. The desire to take action in the practical, material world is strong with this position. Possessions may be a source of conflict between you. The conjunction of Mars and Uranus in the composite chart signifies totally unexpected and strange occurrences, so this relationship will not be an ordinary one. It may be that your relationship exists partly to express rebellion against established modes and patterns in the outside world; the two of you have come together to defy the world.

If the relationship does not have this quality of defiance, there may be many ups and downs and unexpected changes within it. This is not the ideal aspect for a stable, reliable association.
